Traveling and Hotels

Traveling is more than just visiting new places, it is also a chance to learn. Whether it is from the people you encounter, or the failures and triumphs you experience. From the food you eat, to the way in which you greet people, and how they interact with one another, there are lessons in every aspect of life that can be learned when traveling.

The accommodation you choose to stay in will also help to determine your travel experience. A hotel is ideal if you’re looking for comfort, privacy and access to amenities like a pool or a gym. However, if you are a budget conscious traveler who wants to save money on hotels while still having some luxuries, a hostel or an Airbnb may be a better option for you.

Guidebooks can be a great starting point when searching for hotels, but many of them don’t have a lot of information about each place. Websites that let you filter by quality (star rating), location, accommodation type and price can be much more helpful when it comes to finding the right place to stay.

It’s a cliché because it is true, but the location of your hotel can make or break your trip. Look for hotels that are close to the attractions you want to visit and easy to reach by public transportation. Also, be wary of the hotel’s own descriptions about their location, as they can be misleading. For example, “easy access” to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre might mean a 20-minute metro ride away.
